PVC or PET film for blister packs?

Short answer

Both work. PVC is the long-standing blister film for medicines: it forms and seals easily, and AVI makes it as the AVI Blis grade for pharmaceutical blisters. PET (APET or PETG) is chosen where the brief asks for PVC-free or recyclable packaging; PETG suits deeper or tougher blisters.

Choosing

For medicines, start from the approved pack and the regulatory file; changing film means revalidation. For retail and consumer goods, PET makes recycling claims easier.
