Clamshells & Overwrap Trays for Apple Retail Packs
AVI offers seven apple packaging formats, from overwrap trays and compact clamshells to the larger PNG 1500, PNG 1800 and PNG 3000 series for multi-apple retail packs. A choice of footprints and depths helps match packaging to fruit dimensions, pack count and presentation requirements.
Our rPET packaging is supported by in-house extrusion, tooling and thermoforming. AVI's team helps customers select a format with appropriate space for the fruit arrangement and lid clearance, alongside material specifications and applicable food-contact documentation.

Formats for Different Pack Sizes
The seven-format range includes two TRAY 166/135-series overwrap trays weighing 9.5–10 g, the compact PNG 420 APL 2PC clamshell, and larger PNG 1500/1800/3000 clamshells weighing 20–33 g. These are empty-pack weights; AVI's team can help match the format to your apple size, target count and retail presentation.
In-House Extrusion & Tooling
In-house extrusion, tooling and thermoforming support standard pack supply and custom development. Our wider portfolio of more than 20 punnet formats helps packhouses source multiple sizes from one manufacturing partner.
rPET with Food-Contact Documentation

What packaging sizes does AVI supply for apples?
AVI offers seven apple packaging formats, including two TRAY 166/135-series overwrap trays with empty-pack weights of 9.5–10 g and the PNG 420 APL 2PC clamshell at 178 × 94 × 75 mm, weighing 16 g. Larger clamshell options include PNG 1500 with a 155 × 155 mm footprint and pack weights of 20–23.5 g; PNG 1800 at 218 × 155 mm, weighing 31.5 g; and PNG 3000 at 185 × 185 mm, weighing 33 g. Select the format according to fruit dimensions and target pack count, rather than the packaging weight.
Are AVI's apple clamshells suitable for multi-apple retail packs?
The PNG 1500, PNG 1800 and PNG 3000 series provide larger-format options for multi-apple retail packs. The appropriate fruit count depends on apple dimensions, arrangement and usable internal space. AVI's team can help assess pack fit, including clearance beneath the lid, before you finalise a format.
Is AVI's apple packaging made from recycled PET?
Yes. AVI offers rPET apple packaging using sheet extruded at our own facility. Recycled-content specifications and applicable food-contact documentation are available from our team for the selected pack.
