Overview
Clamshell Formats Matched to Your Pears
AVI helps packhouses select pear packaging from its wider PNG punnet range, matching the format to fruit dimensions, pack count and presentation requirements. With more than 20 formats to assess, our team considers the space needed for the fruit's shape and lid clearance before recommending a pack.
Our rPET packaging is supported by in-house extrusion, tooling and thermoforming. From selecting an existing format to developing a custom clamshell, AVI works with customers to match packaging to their packing and distribution requirements.

What We Prove
The AVI Advantage
Sized to Fruit Dimensions & Pack Count
Our team assesses formats from AVI's 20-plus PNG punnet range against your pear dimensions and pack count. Selection considers fruit arrangement and lid clearance to help avoid a pack that is too tight or leaves excessive room for movement.
In-House Extrusion & Tooling
In-house extrusion, tooling and thermoforming support standard pack supply and custom development. Our wider punnet portfolio helps packhouses source multiple sizes and formats from one manufacturing partner.
rPET with Food-Contact Documentation
Our rPET sheet is extruded in-house, supporting material control through to the finished pack. Contact AVI's team for recycled-content specifications and applicable food-contact documentation for your selected format and destination market.
What clamshell size does AVI recommend for pears?
The appropriate format depends on your pear dimensions, fruit arrangement and target pack count. AVI's team can assess options from the wider PNG punnet range against these requirements, including lid clearance and fit within your outer carton. Share your packing specifications for a recommendation.
Is AVI's pear packaging made from recycled PET?
AVI offers rPET packaging options for pears using sheet extruded at our own facility. Contact our team for the recycled-content specification and applicable food-contact documentation for the recommended format.
Can AVI develop a custom clamshell size for pears?
Yes. In-house tooling and mould development support custom clamshell formats. Share your fruit dimensions, target pack count or fill weight, packing-line requirements and carton layout so our team can assess the design and development requirements.
