Hard Disks & Memory
Hard Disks & Memory Packaging
Overview
Packaging Materials for Storage Devices & Components
Hard disks and memory components require packaging that accounts for static sensitivity alongside the physical arrangement of each part. AVI Global Plast supplies ESD sheets and formed trays for storage-related applications, including disk platters, read/write heads, actuators and memory modules.
Material and cavity specifications are selected around the component's dimensions, handling sequence and static-control requirements, supporting packaging for movement between production, assembly and storage.
Material Capabilities
Static Control & Organised Handling
ESD material selection
Anti-static and static-dissipative options support packaging for sensitive storage components.
Component-specific layouts
Tray requirements can be developed around individual parts and their permitted contact areas.
Supply options
Sheet and formed-tray formats accommodate different packing and handling processes.

What We Prove
The AVI Advantage
Built for Disk Platters, Heads & Actuators
AVI's ESD material is specified for the components that make up a hard disk assembly — disk platters, read/write heads and actuators — not just a generic 'electronics' rating.
Gauge & Colour Range
0.3 to 1.5mm gauge in clear, black or white, as coated anti-static virgin or recycled PET sheet — sheet or formed tray, from the same material.
In-House Extrusion & Tooling
Extruded, tooled and formed under one roof at AVI's Daman facility, and conditioned/tested to ASTM D618.
FAQ
Hard Disks & Memory Packaging FAQs
Common questions from buyers, exporters and procurement teams.
Learn MoreWhat hard disk components does AVI's ESD packaging protect?
Disk platters, read/write heads and actuators, along with other memory and storage components.
What resistivity range is used for hard disk packaging?
10⁶ to 10⁹ ohms/sq surface resistivity — the dissipative band of the ESD spectrum, as per ASTM D618.
Is this material tested to an industry standard?
Yes — conditioned and tested to ASTM D618 for humidity and temperature.
