How many punnets fit in a 40 ft container?

Short answer

It depends on the pack. For AVI's 250 g PNG 250 / 75 clamshell, a 40 ft container takes 629,650 pieces on pallets (23 cartons per pallet, 1,225 per carton) or 722,750 loose-loaded. Flat heat-seal punnets nest far tighter: the A-30 / 45 reaches 924,000 on pallets and 1,159,200 without.

What changes the number

  • Pallets or loose loading: loading cartons without pallets fits about 15–25% more.
  • Pack height and shape: low, open trays nest deeper than tall hinged clamshells.
  • Carton size: each pack has a fixed carton count in AVI's export packing data.

Every product page in the catalogue lists its own carton count and container load where AVI has export data for it. For mixed containers, AVI's team can plan the load with you.
