What size is a mushroom punnet or tray?

Why over-wrapped trays
Mushrooms keep best with some air exchange, so they are usually sold on an open tray wrapped in perforated or anti-fog film rather than in a sealed box. The tray only has to hold the shape, which is why mushroom trays are among the lightest packs AVI makes.
Choosing the depth
- 27 mm: sliced mushrooms and shallow single layers.
- 38 mm: the everyday button mushroom pack.
- 37 mm thin-wall: the lightest option where the film carries most of the load.
The same 175 × 125 mm footprint is used for baby corn, beans and mixed vegetables, so one wrapping line setup covers several products.

How much does a punnet of mushrooms weigh?
It depends on the mushroom and the tray depth; button mushrooms are commonly sold in 200 to 400 g packs. Tell AVI's team your fill weight and they will match the depth.
Is this the same as mushroom packaging made from mycelium?
No. 'Mushroom packaging' also names a moulded material grown from fungus, used for protective inserts. AVI's mushroom trays are rPET trays for selling fresh mushrooms.
