Sizes by market

  • India and Europe: 200–250 g retail packs, 500 g for larger families and food service.
  • United Kingdom: 225–250 g everyday packs, 400–500 g value packs.
  • United States: sold by the pint or pound; the 1-pint PNG 253 / 43 holds about 300 g.

Choosing the depth

Strawberries bruise under their own weight, so a wide, shallow pack carries the same fruit with fewer layers. That is why the 250 g size comes in several depths (55, 65 and 75 mm on the same 128 × 94 mm footprint): pick the one that fits your berry size without pressing the top layer.

Ventilation

Strawberries keep longer when the pack breathes. AVI's clamshells have vents in the base and lid; heat-seal punnets are paired with a perforated or micro-perforated lidding film.

Related questions

How much does a punnet of strawberries weigh?

Usually 200 to 400 g in Europe and India, with 250 g the most common; 500 g packs are used for value and food-service lines. The pack itself weighs 9 g for a 250 g clamshell.

Clamshell or heat-seal punnet for strawberries?

A clamshell re-closes and needs no sealing machine; a heat-seal punnet is lighter and tamper-evident but needs a tray sealer.
