How many punnets are in a carton, and how many cartons fit on a pallet?
Short answer
It depends on the pack. A 250 g PNG 250 / 75 clamshell packs 1,225 to an export carton with 23 cartons per pallet; a flat A-30 / 45 heat-seal punnet packs 2,100 per carton, 20 cartons per pallet; and a 1 kg PNG 501 / 126 grape clamshell packs 550 per carton, 24 per pallet. What sets the count
- Nesting: open trays and heat-seal punnets nest deeper than hinged clamshells.
- Pack height and wall angle: steeper walls nest less tightly.
- Carton size: each pack has a fixed export carton in AVI's packing data.
From carton to container
Cartons per pallet times pallets per container gives the load. AVI's catalogue lists the 40 ft load with and without pallets for most packs; loading without pallets fits more. For mixed loads, AVI's team plans the container with you.

They are open trays with no hinged lid, so they nest deep inside each other.
Are these cartons of empty packs or filled fruit?
Empty packs, as AVI ships them. How many filled punnets fit in a retail tray depends on the packer's own outer case.
